Tube Brooke Kroeger Mask
Debbie Mumm Art
Open the tube in PSP. Duplicate and close the original.
Open the mask and minimize it.
Open a transparent image 100 X 50 pixels.
Choosing colors from your tube, make a color swatch for easier use
while working on your image. I've included mine with the supplies.
Selection > Custom selection > top 0; left 0; right 25; bottom 50
Flood fill with a color from your tube.
Selection > Custom selection > top 0; left 25; right 50; bottom 50
Flood fill with a color from your tube.
Selection > Custom selection > top 0; left 50; right 75; bottom 50
Flood fill with a color from your tube.
Selection > Custom selection > top 0; left 75; right100; bottom 50
Flood fill with a color from your tube.
We may not use 4 colors, but we will have them if we choose to use them.
Pick two colors for your foreground and background materials boxes.
I chose Yellow (#FFEDC9) and Green (B1B79D)
With your tube active - (Main image)
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
V & H=4; O=50; B=8; color = black
Layers > New Raster Layer
Layers > Arrange > Send to bottom
Flood fill with Yellow
Effects > Plugins > I. C. Net Software > Filters Unlimited > Special Effects >
Centerspot > Intensity 63.
Open a new transparent Image 100 X 100 pixels.
Flood fill with Yellow.
Apply the same Centerspot effect as on your main image.
Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise.
Uniform and Monochrome checked with 10% noise.
Select the text tool set to Create as a Vector > Type an x in the center of the new image.
This will be the color of your background box. Mine is green.
I used Arial size 16
Objects > Align in center of canvas.
In the Layers Palette, Right click on Vector 1 and Convert to Raster Layer.
Layers > Merge > Merge All (flatten)
Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling at default
Choose pattern in your foreground materials box and find the pattern we just made.
Angle 0; Size 50%
With your main image active>
Image > Add borders > 3 pixels symmetric > green (Background color)
Image > Add borders > 50 pixels symmetric > white.
Select the border with your magic wand at default setting.
Flood fill with the pattern in your foreground materials box.
Selections > Select none.
Image > Add borders > 3 pixels symmetric > green (Background color)
Layers > New Raster Layer
With the selection tool set for custom selections, use these settings.
Top = 0; Left = 0; Right = 50; Bottom = 50
Flood fill this selection with another color. I used Purple #AE9BBA.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow > V & H = 1; O = 50; B=6> Color black.
Selections > Select none
Effects > Plugins > Simple > Top Left Mirror
Image > Add borders > 3 pixels symmetric > green (Background color)
Place a small accent in the 4 corners.
I've supplied an acorn, but try other things, like leaves, buttons, etc.
If you use a preset shape, make it the last color in your swatch.
The Simple Filter Top Left Mirror works here, too.
Resize as you choose using the Bicubic Resampling.
If you want a much smaller image, resize to 85% more than once instead
of a big amount at one time for best results.
Layers > New Raster Layer > add your mark.
Export using the .JPEG Optimizer and save as a header.
Or resize much smaller and use as a side border.
Background.
Restore the mask. Images > Rotate > Free rotate. Left 90%
with no boxes checked.
Open a new transparent image150 X 350 pixels.
Flood fill with one of your solid colors. I used the purple.
Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image> Locate the mask and apply.
Layers > Merge > Merge Group.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow > V+ 0; H - 1; O =60; B=6 > Color black.
Layers > New Raster Layer.
Flood fill with another color or your pattern.
Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image> Locate the mask and apply.
Layers > Merge > Merge Group.
With your mover tool, move this top layer to the right so that you can see
the other color underneath.
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow > V+ 0; H - 1; O =60; B=6 > Color black.
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling Edge/vertical at 50 and 50.
Image > Canvas size > 1280 X 350 with left/center placement.
Layers > New Raster Layer.
Layers > Arrange > Send to bottom
Flood fill with another color. I used green.
Effects > Plugins > I. C Net Software > Filters Unlimited > Special Effects >
Centerspot > Intensity 63.
Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling Edge/vertical at 50 and 50.
Layers > Merge > Merge All (flatten)
Export using the .JPEG Optimizer and save as background.
