Noisy Mosaic Glass Background

Letter Creator.

Open the tube and the mask in PSP.
Minimize the mask.
Duplicate the tube and close the original.
Resize the tube to no more than 345 pixels wide
Be sure to use Bicubic Resampling.

Duplicate the tube again
Effects - Image Effects - Seamless tilling at Default.
Layers - Merge - Merge All (flatten)
Effects - namesuppressed - Plaid Lite and choose
the Pattern you prefer by changes the number on
the Pattern line. Experiment.

Layers - New Raster Layer
Layers - Arrange - Send to bottom

Choose a light color from your tube for your
background and flood fill this bottom layer.

For the foreground materials box choose white.
In the foreground box choose gradient
With these settings

Layers - New Mask Layer - from image-
using these settings.

Layers - Merge - Merge Group
Effects - 3DEffects - Drop Shadow
V & H = 1, O=50, Blur = 1.00
Color black.

Maximize the other tube and resize to 80%

Copy this tube and Paste it onto the masked
image. With the mover tool,
place it according to your preference. (see my example)
Minimize the tube again. We will use it later.

Layers - 3D Effect - Inner Bevel with these settings.

This is my tube puffing settings. Save if you wish
as Sue's Tube Puffing or a name of your choice.

Effects - 3DEffects - Drop Shadow
V & H = 2; 0=65; Blur= 5.00

Layers - Merge -Merge All (flatten)

Image - Add Borders - 1 symmetric color #808080
unless you are using a dark color, then use black

Image - Add Borders 3 symmetric
with your background color.

Image - Add border 1 symmetric color #808080
If you are using a dark color make this color black.

Image - Add border 5 symmetric color white.
Select the white border with your magic wand
and flood fill it with your gradient.

Image - Add border 1 symmetric color #808080
Or black

Image - Add Borders - 15 symmetric
with your background color.
Select the border, then
Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add Noise 15%
Gaussian and Monochrome checked.

Effects - 3D Effects- Inner Bevel with the
same setting as before.

Layer - New Raster Layer - add your mark.

Layers - Merge Visible

Resize to 345 wide. Height will set itself

Image - Canvas size - 1024x the height of your
framed image +20 left center position.
Or whatever you use for your IncrediMail width.

Move the framed image out from the left
about 10 pixels. You should have 10 pixels
of the background showing top, bottom, and left.

Layers - New Raster Layer
Layers - Arrange - Send to bottom

Selections - Select All

Copy your tube and Paste into selection.

Deselect

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless tiling - Default

Adjust - Blur -Gaussian - Radius 25

Layers - New Raster Layer
Layers - Arrange - Send to bottom
Flood fill with the background color.

Click on the eye by the top raster layer to
close it off.
Make sure one of the other two layers is highlighted

Layers - Merge - Merge visible

Adjust - Add /Remove Noise - Add Noise: 15%
Gaussian and Monochrome checked

Effects - Texture Effects - Mosaic Glass with
these settings.

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless tiling - Default

Open your top layer agan.

Layers - Merge - Merge All (flatten)

Export using . JPEG optimizer and save.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Any resemblance to another tutorial is
purely coincidental. It is a result of my own playing in PSP 8. I use
a blank background for easier reading and printing.
